The history program at Washington College is designed to foster, through study of the past, the student's informed thinking on issues presently confronting humanity, to enrich the student's cultural background, and to prepare students for graduate work in history and for professional careers in teaching, law, journalism, international work, public service, museum curatorships, archive management, and historical restoration.
