Description: Uruguay's first tourist hotel outside of Montevideo, the Biltmore opened its doors in 1872 and has remained in operation. In front is a statue of Carlos Gardel, who sang to the National Soccer Club of Uruguay at the hotel. Domingo Faustino Sarmiento also stayed in the hotel.El primer hotel turístico en Uruguay, fuera de Montevideo, el Biltmore tuvo su estreno en 1872, y desde esta fecha ha operado continuamente. Enfrente hay una estatua de Carlos Gardel, quien cantó en el hotel para el equipo nacional de fútbol. Domingo Faustino Sarmiento también se alojó en el hotel.History of Uruguay.
