&lt;br/&gt;Abstract: Classification: Building Furnishings, Bedding, Quilt Materials and Techniques: Satins and Silks pieced using crazy quilt method.  Style/Period/Movement: Victorian Period Style. Physical Description: Nine blocks.  Fabrics are silks, many are taffeta ribbons.  Border is deep pink and yellow-gold satin.  Embroideyr stitches over seams.  Backing is pink and gray stripe silk.  Quilting in grid pattern on back only.  Blanket stitching on outside border.  Exhibition History: Exhibited in Rothman Gallery-Fall 1993, Fall 1996, and Spring 1997.  Collection or Donor:From the Robert L. Schaeffer Jr. Collection donated to the college in 1987. It is said that Schaeffer (American 1918-2001) , an avid collector of American folk art, often crossed paths with the Duponts. The collection largely represents a narrow geographic region consisting of Pennsylvania German objects and was accumulated over four decades.

Materials and Techniques: Appliqued Cotton  Style/Period/Movement: Pennsylvania German Folk Art Physical Description: Four large red and white print Cock's Combs.  Tulip pot in the center.  Background is yellow calico. Quilting echos pattern and background is quilted in a grid pattern. The backing fabric is a blue cotton floral pattern with stripes.  Exhibition History:Exhibited in the People's Place Quilt Museum, Intercourse, PA-November 10, 1995-January 31, 1996.  Collection or Donor: From the Robert L. Schaeffer Jr. Collection donated to the college in 1987. It is said that Schaeffer (American 1918-2001) , an avid collector of American folk art, often crossed paths with the Duponts. The collection largely represents a narrow geographic region consisting of Pennsylvania German objects and was accumulated over four decades.   The donor states that he purchased this quilt form Hattie Brunner (American1890-1982) in the 1960's. Hattie Brunner from Reinholds, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania was a folk art painter  as well as one of the first antique dealers in Pennsylvania German Folk Art.

The border contains a red print stripe on a white background.  The batting is thick.  Quilted in a large grid pattern.  The border is quilted in straight rows.  The back is muslim. Physical Description: Lone Star quilt comprised of solid color cotton in various shades of red green, blue and yellow on a white background.  There is a quilted medallion n the four corners and half a medallion between the points. The border is quilted with an undulating feather pattern.  The back is white.
