&lt;br/&gt;Abstract: Classification: Building Furnishing, bedding, quilt. Materials and Techniques: Cotton, pieced, quilted.  Physical Description: This quilt has block of Carolina Lilies with sawtooth borders around them.  The fabrics are solid red with green, yellow and red calico.  Most of the lilies and three sides of the inner sawtooth border are made of the solid red fabric.  The remaining flowers &amp; one side of the sawtooth border are in the red calico.  The stems and leaves are yellow calico and are machine appliqu&amp;#233;d.  The quilting in the lily block is in straight rows.  the green sawtooth area has quilting with the pattern and there is also a feathered flower.  The red and white inner sawtooth border looks as if it is machine sewn together but hand quilted.  The outside border is quilted with an undulating feather and stars.  The edging is three sides pink calico and one side red gingham &amp; hand sewn.

&lt;br/&gt;Abstract: Classification: Building Furnishing, Bedding, Quilt.  Materials and techniques: Cotton, pieced, quilted. Physical Description: This quilt is a pieced green and yellow calico with a solid red lily.  The alternating squares and the border are blue calico.  The quilting on the lily panel follows the flower pattern.  The back is blue and pink calico, eight inch stripe, which is typical of Southeast Pennsylvania. The edge is pink calico tape (binding), which is hand sewn. Exhibition History: Exhibited in Pennsylvania Treasures, Dana Room, F&amp;M College, March 29-Aril 13, 1989.  Exhibited in the Rothman Gallery, Fall 1992, Rothman Gallery, Spring 1996. Collection/Donor: Robert L. Schaeffer. Accession # Q-87-70

Physical Description: This is a pieced block pattern with an Ohio Star Variation also known as Variable Star.  It has several different dark blue with small white print cotton fabric.  The borders and sashing around the blocks  are white calico.  There are different quilting patterns on each section, the triangular shapes along the border have a chevron pattern, the  main block is quilted in a diagonal grid pattern.  The white border is quilted in a chain pattern.  The backing fabric is a brown &amp; tan paisley print &amp; is folded onto the front eding, which is hand hemmed.&#xD;
Exhibition: This quilt is currently on permanent display in the Rothman Gallery, The Phillips Museum.  Collections/Donor: Robert L. Schaeffer purchased the quilt from Hattie Brunner in the 1970s.&#xD;

Physical Description:  This large quilt is in the Rising Sun pattern.  It has red, yellow, green, blue &amp; orange calicos &amp; prints, with white also in the diamond shaped pattern.  There are four small red &amp; green stars in the four corners of the quilt.  Both the Rising Sun and the smaller stars seem to be hand pieced then hand appliqu&amp;#233;d to the background fabric.  The quilting pattern follows the diamond shapes of both the sun and stars.  There is a chain quilting pattern in the border.  There is a cluster of hearts quilted between each point of the stars.  All of this is on a white background, all is cotton.  the backing fabric is white with the front folded over and hand stitched.  Exhibition History: Exhibited Dana Room F&amp;M Pennsylvania Treasures, March 29-April 13, 1989. Exhibited at the Armory, 33rd and Lancaster Ave, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA April 6-11, 1990 at The Philadelphia Antique Show.  Exhibited at the Oral Traditions Quilt Symposium, "Pennsylvania treasure-Trove", Dana Room-F&amp;M.  1995&#xD;
